Caroline Faflak holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she studied violin with Prof. David Neely and piano with Dr. Ann Chang-Barnes. Caroline was a member of the Lincoln Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra of UNL, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and performed in several chamber groups. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in master classes with Tim Baker, Peter Marsh, and Cora Venus Lunny. In 2007, she was awarded the Undergraduate Creative Activities Research Experience grant from UNL to research Czech pedagogue Otakar Sevcik in Prague, Czech Republic. She spent a year in Prague studying violin at the Academy of Performing Arts with Prof. Ivan Straus, in addition to her research activity. For three summers, she has participated in the Bechyne / Litomysl International Music Seminars, Czech Republic, and studied there with Prof. Ivan Straus, Academy of Performing Arts, Prague, and Mr. Ludek Ruzicka, Prague. After graduating, Miss Faflak studied with and was a personal assistant to Emanuel and Lenore Vardi in North Bend, WA.

Caroline started to study the piano at age two with her mother, who is a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She received first place in the South Dakota Music Teachers Association state piano competition six times and was a member of the National Piano Guild from 1997 to 2004. Caroline took up the violin in the fourth grade.

Currently, Caroline is a freelance violinist in the Seattle area and a member of the Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, Seattle Rock Orchestra, and Federal Way Symphony.  In addition to performing, Caroline has a private violin and piano studio, co-founded a beginning strings program in the Snoqualmie Valley public elementary schools, and is a coach for the Snoqualmie Strings Youth Orchestra, Bellevue High School orchestra, and Bellevue Youth Symphonies.
