Charlotte's teaching philosophy involves a variety of stylistic influences, including classical, jazz, and pop. She places a strong holistic emphasis on improvisation, music theory, and ear training, and takes pride in making these aspects of learning music enjoyable and creative for the student. Charlotte enjoys teaching music to all ages and levels, but she has cultivated an especially wide variety of experience teaching children, from tutoring her younger siblings on their own instruments to teaching movement-oriented music to a classroom of preschool students. Charlotte entered the University of Washington at the age of fifteen, and completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Scandinavian Studies. She recently completed a Masters degree in Piano Performance from the University of British Columbia. She performs regularly in the Seattle area as a soloist, accompanist, and member of a small ensemble. You can contact Charlotte by: Charlotte Dike Contact Form |
