Alan Jacobson
Teaching: GuitarBass GuitarMandolin

alanAlan has been a performer and music educator in the Seattle area for over 30 years.  As Musical Director and Concertmaster of the Seattle Mandolin Orchestra and the Emerald City Mandolin Quartet, he has performed with world class soloists and ensembles of all shapes, sizes and genres.

Although Alan specializes in the classical tremolo approach to mandolin instrument family technique and interpretation, he plays and teaches most styles, including rock, folk, jazz, bluegrass and the blues.  So, whether you want to learn to read and play written music, or improvise and play by ear, Alan will help you develop your own strategy for success and show you how to gauge your own progress -- and help you build the proper technique for any genre along the way.

Alan also teaches all styles of guitar at Kaleidoscope.
