Appreciation for Charlotte
Charlotte taught my daughter piano for approximately 3 years until she (Charlotte) went away to grad school. She was a great classical teacher, and my daughter got a very good foundation (Charlotte was her first piano teacher). Charlotte was a great inspiration for my daughter, and did a good job at arranging her own recitals. I would highly recommend Charlotte as a piano teacher for her knowledge and manner, and she was always reliable.

Charlotte was one of the best piano teachers I've had. She was very reliable and always came on time to lessons an often stayed a couple extra minutes if there was something specific I really needed help on. She had a very consistent teaching method - I would play whatever I had been practicing, then she would correct me on technique, tone, tempo, style, and give an interpretation of the piece for me to consider. She was a very good technical instructor and helped me a lot with precision and different techniques for different styles of music. She also helped me with my practice routine and techniques. I improved drastically over the two years she was my teacher and really enjoyed my lessons. I actually tinkered around tonight on a college piano here at Georgetown and remembered a whole Chopin nocturne I learned to love with her. I have known Charlotte as my piano teacher for about four years. I am an adult student and she has been a wonderful, inspiring teacher. She was recommended to me by the University of Washington Music Department, where she was an undergraduate at that time. As a beginning adult student I originally had a teacher who I found to be very frustrating to work with and then I found Charlotte. She takes an entirely different, individualized approach to her students. I know she has taught all age ranges and she keeps her students encouraged and motivated. When she went to graduate school in Canada I had to supplement her teaching with other teachers and again, always go back to Charlotte when possible. |
